Former Bell Co. Sheriff Harold Harbin passes away

Former Bell County Sheriff Millard Harold Harbin passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. Mr. Harbin was elected in 1994 and served as sheriff for nine years.
Current Bell County Sheriff Mitch Williams remembers Harbin as “kind, humble, honest, and fair.”
“He was a great sheriff to the people of Bell County and a friend that left many great memories for those around him,” Williams told WRIL.
“I’m at a loss of words when I reflect back on the endless hours I shared with my friend and business partner Sheriff Harold Harbin,” Bell County Judge Executive Albey Brock said. “Harold was loyal to his friends and steadfast in his love and support for his wonderful family. My family is praying for his and he will be forever remembered as a kind hearted faithful leader.”
The family of Harold Harbin was to receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel in Middlesboro. Funeral services will immediately follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Hunter and Rev. David Rice presiding.
