The 89th Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival is officially underway following the opening concert Thursday.

Wynonna (Judd ) and the Big Noise performed a crowd pleasing show at Bell County High School following the introduction of the princess and queen candidates.

Chairperson Becky Combs Collett and Co-Chairman Colby Slusher welcomed everyone to the 89th festival celebration.

The self-titled album “Wynonna and the Big Noise” is the eighth studio album by country music singer Wynonna Judd.

The album was released in 2016 and is her first full length studio album since 2003 when “What the World Needs Now Is Love” was released.

The KMLF is the kick-off for the bands summer tour that will take them across the country and will wrap up at the 2019 Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol, Tenn.
