13th Region Tournament brackets released

The 13th Region tournament bracket has been set for both baseball and softball. The tournament begins on Monday at LMU. The Bell County Bobcats will face-off against the Corbin Redhounds at 11 a.m., the Knox Central Panthers take on the Clay County Tigers at 2 p.m., the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets square-off against the Barbourville Tigers at 5 p.m., and the Whitley County Colonels will take on the North Laurel Jaguars at 8 p.m.
The winner of Corbin-Bell County will take on the winner of Knox Central-Clay County on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The winner of Middlesboro-Barbourville will take on the winner of North Laurel-Whitley County on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The championship game will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The 13th Region softball tournament begins Monday at Whitley County High School. The Middlesboro Lady Jackets take on the hosting Whitley County Lady Colonels in the opening round at 11 a.m., the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats will take on the North Laurel Lady Jaguars at 1 p.m., the Clay County Lady Tigers square off against the Corbin Lady Redhounds at 3 p.m., and the Harlan County Lady Black Bears take on the Knox Central Lady Panthers at 5 p.m.
The winner of Whitley County-Middlesboro will take on the winner of Lynn Camp-North Laurel on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The winner of Clay County-Corbin will take on the winner of Harlan County-Knox Central on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The championship game will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The Bell County baseball team finished the season with a 7-17 record, including a 6-14 mark in regional play. The Bobcats defeated Harlan County in the semifinals of the 52nd District Tournament on Monday, before falling to Middlesboro 10-0 in the district championship game.
Middlesboro finished the season with a record of 16-10, including an undefeated district record of 8-0 and a 13-5 mark in regional play. Middlesboro won the 52nd District Tournament with a 10-0 victory over the Bell County Bobcats after defeating the Harlan Green Dragons 12-7 in the semifinals.
The Middlesboro Lady Jackets finished the season with a 14-18 record, including a 10-9 mark in regional play and a 7-2 record in the district. The Lady Jackets finished as the runner-up in the district tournament after falling to the Harlan County Lady Black Bears 9-8. The Middlesboro defeated the Harlan Lady Green Dragons 15-0 in the semifinals.
