Lone Jack Family Resource Youth Service Center hosted a parent meeting introducing the new GEAR-UP staff and program to the parents attending the meeting. Kim Craig, academic interventionist, and Micheline Carey, career navigator, presented informative facts about the program and how they will be working with the students and community of Lone Jack School Center. They will support the students in achieving their goals in life in order to have a successful career by the time they graduate high school. They will also help students with scholarship opportunities that are available in the career paths they wish to follow. Craig and Carey explained to parents/guardians that college may not be for all kids; however, there were other options for career choices that they can guide the students in.
