Lady Jackets pull away for win over HHS

Middlesboro pulled away with a seven-run fourth inning on the way to an 11-1 victory Tuesday over the visiting Harlan Lady Dragons.
Hannah McCullough pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and two walks to earn the win.
Shelby Frazier and Janiah Young led Middlesboro (6-6) with two singles each. McCullough, Lindsey Buis and Sydney McWilliams added one single each.
Makayla Sizemore, Kailey Cornett and Kaitlin Cornett had one single each for the Lady Dragons.
Kellie Bennett pitched a complete with two strikeouts and five walks.
“I am very proud of how the girls played,” Harlan coach Alexandria Pennington said. “We are getting better each and every day. We are starting to see the ball better at the plate.”
Harlan (3-4) plays at Bell County on Thursday.

Bell County reeled off seven unanswered runs after falling behind 2-0 to defeat visiting Harlan 7-2 on Thursday.
Mackenzie Miller pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Bell County improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in district action.
K. Robbins, K. Saylor and M. Robbins each had two singles for Bell County. A. Lawson, S. Brooks and M. Napier added one single each.
Reagan Jones led Harlan with a double and single. Payton Bennett and Kaitlin Cornett added one single each.
Harlan (3-5) will play host to.Jenkins on Thursday.
