The former Chief Financial Officer of Pineville Community Hospital remains in the Bell County Detention Facility awaiting extradition to Claiborne County.

Matthew Brock, 30, was arrested on Monday by Middlesboro Sergeant Barry Cowan and Acting Chief Tom Busic.

According to the Bell County Detention Facility, Brock is being held on a fugitive warrant with no bond.

Detective Bradley Duncan with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office confirms that Brock is facing the charge of theft over $10,000 after he allegedly stole property from a house he was renting in Claiborne County.

According to Duncan, Brock is also accused of embezzling thousands of dollars between May 1 and July 31, 2018 from a call service center, Dream CSX, in Louisville, Tenn. At the time, Brock was employed as the company’s chief financial officer.

According to a police report, the fraud complaint against Brock was made on August 22, 2018 at the Alcoa police station by a company representative. The report states that Brock was terminated from the company due to the investigation being felony related.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Alcoa Police Department into the embezzlement from Dream CSX.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is also looking into a situation regarding Brock and the former Pineville Community Hospital.

Brock is expected to be extradited to Claiborne County where he will face theft charges.
