Middlesboro Main Street is looking to fill a mix of premier headliner acts along with local and regional opening acts for the Levitt Amp Middlesboro Music Series. The series will launch on July 18 and run every Thursday for 10 weeks through Sept. 19.
Last fall, the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation announced Middlesboro Main Street as one of three nonprofits across the United States to win a $75,000 matching grant over the next three years to continue presenting the Levitt Amp Music Series.
“All artists and bands interested in performing during the 2019 Middlesboro series of concerts from July 18 to September 19 should complete the online form,” said Emily Ayers of Middlesboro Main Street. “We look forward to learning more about you and please share with others to get the word out.”
The online form can be found on the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series Facebook page. The application is a series of questions about the genre of music, the band availability, as well as social media presence and Levitt Music appearances.
The applications will be reviewed as each is received and the selections will be made based on the programming needs and space availability.
“Last year was our best series yet, and with the ability to secure the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series for three-year increments, we know we can take this series to a new level of success while continuing to promote the core mission of the Levitt Foundation by using free live music as a vehicle for positive change,” Ayers said.
“The Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series is consistently the most positively received event in our region, and we are absolutely thrilled to be able to continue it for the foreseeable future,” said Jon Grace of Bell County Tourism. “The ability to plan in advance is huge and will enable our committee to develop the series in ways we haven’t been able to before now.”
