The Tuesday Bell County Fiscal Court meeting was a held with no audience participation or special announcements.

There was however, a significant amount of agenda items to work through. After leading them meeting off with the pledge of allegiance, Judge Executive Albey Brock went directly to business at hand:

• Item A: Pay bills and make necessary transfers. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item B: Accept treasurer’s financial statement for the last month. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item C: Accept sheriff’s claim sheet for fee account for last month (July). This motion was approved by the court;

• Item D was the committee progress report, to which there was nothing to report from any of the committee members;

• Item E: Set 2018 tax rates for real property at 13.2 cents $100.00 of assessed value. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item F: Set 2018 tax rates for personal property at 14.9 cents per $100.00 of assessed value. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item G: Set 2019 tax rates for motor vehicle and watercraft at 14.9 cents per $100.00 of assessed value. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item H: Set 2018 tax rates for forest fire protection per KRS 149.540 at two cents per acre. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item I: Record 2018 tax rates set by the Bell County Board of Health for real property 5.5 cents per $100.00 of assessed value and personal property 5.5 cents per $100.00 of assessed value. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item J: Hire George Smith as full-time dispatch supervisor at $13 per hour effective of 8-16-18. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item K: Hire Travis Nunn, Christopher Estep, Samantha Mason, Krystal Saylor, Kenny Stewart, Amanda Smith, Chad Jones, Janet Rice, Rachel Jones, Brian Napier and Velvia Marie Bailey as part-time deputy jailers at $7.25 per hour effective 8-16-18. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item L: Accept 2015 excess fees in the amount of $221.58 from Debbie Gambrel, Bell County Clerk. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item M: Accept 2016 excess fees in the amount of $964.34 from Debbie Gambrel, Bell County Clerk. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item N: Accept checks in the amount of $42, 932.94 from sheriff Mitch Williams. This motion was approved by the court;

• Item O: Accept checks in the amount of $18,315.47 from Debbie Gambrel, Bell County Clerk. This motion was accepted by the court.
