Trevor Hoskins is returning to his roots. The former Middlesboro standout and coach will be heading back to the place he called home for over four years. The former quarterback was hired to the UPike football coaching staff in June to coach the position he starred at while with the Bears.

Hoskins transferred to UPike in 2010 after playing two seasons at Eastern Kentucky University on a football scholarship. He started three years at quarterback for the Bears and was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week twice and NAIA National Player of the Week once.

Hoskins made his way into the record books at UPike after throwing for 2,673 yards in a single season in 2010. He broke a second record after finishing with 607 yards against Georgetown in 2010.

Hoskins ended his career at UPike with 7,481 yards and 64 touchdowns.

According to a UPike press release, Hoskins worked at D1 Training in Knoxville in 2017. He trained quarterbacks at the facility, which was ranked as one of the top gyms in America by Men’s Health.

Hoskins was previously the offensive coordinator at Middlesboro High School for two seasons. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant at UPike in 2013 and 2014.

The new UPike quarterback coach was impressive during his time playing at Middlesboro High School as well. In 2006, Hoskins led the Jackets to an 11-2 season while tossing 2,110 yards and 21 touchdowns. He completed 53 percent of his passes that year.

In 2005, Hoskins ended the year with 1,698 yards and 17 touchdowns while completing 51 percent of his throws. The Jackets finished 7-5 that season.
