The Pinnacle Pub

The historic town of Cumberland Gap has a new pub and eatery for locals and visitors alike to enjoy, and it’s named after one of the Gap’s most famous attractions.
Pinnacle Pub is owned and operated by wife and husband team Kayla and Blake Luck.
“A friend of ours decided to move away from the hospitality industry, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to try our hand at running a business and providing the community with a new place to eat and socialize,”said Luck. “The name came from Blake’s first visit to the area and going to the Pinnacle Overlook. We have been open since June 2017. During this time, we have built our menu and obtained our licensing to serve liquor by the drink.”
Kayla received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University and had five years experience in the hospitality/restaurant business by working at The Oasis in Harrogate.
Luck said that they strive for the Pinnacle Pub to provide a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere that welcomes anyone age 18 and older.
“Special events such as ‘Club at the Pub’ take place from August-April. We have a jukebox, two pool tables, two dart boards, board/card games, a large patio for cornhole and other outdoor games. We have had local artists perform several times as well as hosted other events such as a New Year’s Eve Party, Halloween Party (and) St. Paddy’s Weekend Bash,” said Luck.
In pub tradition, Pinnacle Pub offers a variety of stalwart pub food such as wings, burgers, wraps and pretzels with beer cheese. Luck said this past April was when their menu became fully realized.
“In the tri-state area, I find that many people are looking for a place to socialize. We see people coming in from a long day at work to get a drink, but more than anything, we see people come in with friends,” said Luck. “Everyone comes in to see their friends and to get away from the stresses of the day. Since we sell food and a large variety of beer and cocktails, we have something for everyone.”
Starting Friday, Pinnacle Pub will be hosting “Country Night”, which will consist of the pub only playing country music all night. They will also provide local live acts and are currently working on a Caribbean themed night in the fall.
