HARROGATE, Tenn. — When it comes to educating highly skilled, compassionate nurses that hospitals want to employ, the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Caylor School of Nursing (CSON) is a school with a solid reputation and excellent pass rates to back it up. LMU’s December 2017 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates earned a 100 percent pass rate on the most recent National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). In addition, LMU’s May 2017 BSN graduates also earned a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-RN.

The NCLEX-RN exam tests knowledge skills, abilities and competencies essential to being a practicing nurse. It is the licensing exam for registered nurses.

In 2010, LMU launched its accelerated BSN program in response to an aging population, labor reports predicting growing nursing shortages and the Institute of Medicine recommendation for 80 percent of the nursing workforce have a BSN by 2020. Registered nurses with a BSN are better prepared to provide quality care for their patients. Hospitals are seeking BSN candidates because of their ability to handle more responsibility and hold supervisory roles.

Nursing is the largest undergraduate major at LMU. Enrollment in the CSON has increased exponentially over the last decade with the addition of new programs and concentrations. The CSON offers a variety of degree options to meet nurses’ career goals including the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), the RN-BSN, the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The MSN degree is designed for students seeking to advance their career in nursing, and offers concentrations in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Nurse Anesthetist (NA), Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (FPMHNP) and its newest concentration, Nursing Business Administration (NBA) for nurses seeking to be an executive nurse. LMU offers the RN-BSN, NBA and DNP programs completely online.
