Bobcats win district showdown with 14-3 victory at Rockcastle

One year after watching Rockcastle County win a district title with a 40-38 win on their home field, the Bell County Bobcats returned the favor with a 14-3 win Friday in Mount Vernon.
Rockastle County (6-1) scored first when Benjamin Brenda hit a 40-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Bell County (6-1) won the game with two scoring drives in the second half, beginning in the third quarter when quarterback Blake Burnett ran 33 yards for a touchdown.
Burnett teamed with Blake Evans for a 20-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter. Kaleb Miller added the two-point conversion.
Miller again led the Bell offense with 209 yards rushing on 28 carries. Burnett added 75 yards on 11 carries and completed four of eight passes for 67 yards. Hunter Everage, Evans, Joseph Brigmon and Cayden Huff had one catch each.
Everage had two interceptions, while Huff added one as the Bell defense allowed only 161 yards of offense by the Rockets.
Rockcastle County travels to McCreary Central on Friday. Bell County will play at Knox Central
