Those interested in being a Nurse Aid can register now for the certification course offered this fall at different times and locations, including Cumberland, Whitesburg, Middlesboro, Pineville and Barbourville.
Students successfully completing the Nursing Assistant Skills course at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College will be eligible to take the Medicaid Nurse Aide State Competency Exam and be a State Registered Nurse Aid (SRNA). They are eligible to work at long-term care and other agencies and provide patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
“This is an ideal starting point for students looking to enter the healthcare field or enhance their skills,” said Dr. Erin Reasor, SKCTC Dean of Nursing and Technical Programming. “Our program coordinators have highlighted the significant skill level students gain from this course. It’s a valuable addition to any healthcare-related educational path.”
