Flag day celebrates the symbolism and history of the American flag on June 14th. This day has been celebrated several ways in the past. Families displayed the flag at their residence, parades and other patriotic events held. Realizing these many celebrations, In May of 1916 President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation stating June 14th as Flag Day each year.
Later in 1945 President Harvey Truman Officially declared June 14th as Flag Day.
