Each year, employees around the Corix Group of Companies devote their time and energy to volunteer in the local communities and a select few groups are recognized through the annual Corix Award for Employee Volunteerism. The volunteer efforts and awards have powerful and positive impacts in the places they live and work.
The Corix Award for Employee Volunteerism was developed in recognition of their employees and involvement in programs and activities involving sustainability, reclamation and conservation, and community support and enhancement. The staff at Water Service Corporation of Kentucky is proud to be recognized for this award and are excited to announce their contribution in excess of $10,000 to the City of Middlesboro, which will be used to fund a new splash pad for the Middlesboro community.
The staff at Water Service Corporation of Kentucky are proud partners of their communities and are recognized for working with local schools to build awareness with children on water treatment and conservation, which includes the introduction of a successful apprenticeship program at Middlesboro High School.
Colby Wilson and the management and operating staff in Middlesboro also participated with tree planting at parks, bench painting, and have enhanced local trails.
“We are looking forward to continued partnerships with the City of Middlesboro through construction of the splash pad and further volunteer efforts,” Wilson said.
The construction of the splash pad will take place at the Middlesboro Community Center and will be the first phase of a projected sports complex the City of Middlesboro plans to construct.
An anticipated date of when the project is expected to break ground is currently unknown.
