Middlesboro celebrates Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

The life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., was celebrated this weekend with a caravan hosted by the Friends of Lincoln School Inc. The caravan met at the Middlesboro City Parking Lot at 2 p.m. on Sunday with school officials, ministers, veterans, soldiers and government leaders who joined in on the celebration. The event concluded at Thankful Baptist Church with a service that included a message and music that was provided by a variety of singers. Those in attendance participated in a special presentation of the Samuel Coleman Sr. Award. The event is held each year on the Sunday prior to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
