Christy Blevins from the Bell County Extension Office visited Lone Jack School Center in October with the LEAPS Program. She read a book titled, Tops and Bottoms. The book taught the children how different vegetables grow, under the ground and on top of the ground; such as carrots, radishes, celery, tomatoes, potatoes, etc. The children found this to be amazing! Ms. Christy had a variety of vegetables for the students to taste test. Some of these included celery, radishes, and carrots. The children really enjoyed learning about the many foods they eat.
