The Bell County Bobcats have now forced two shutouts in as many games after defeating the Jackson County Generals on Friday night 45-0 on the road. The Bobcats are the highest scoring team in 3A and bolster the number-one ranking in the state in their respective class. With the victory, Bell County improved to 8-0 on the season.

The Bobcats limited the Generals to just 57 total yards of offense on Friday night, while putting up 480 total yards of offense of their own. For the third time this season, at least four different Bobcats scored.

“I’m proud of how well we play as a team,” said Bell County coach Dudley Hilton. “We had some turnovers and things that I wasn’t too pleased with, but overall, I’m happy with how we played. We held another team scoreless and had a bunch of guys scoring for us. We’re just going to keep on working hard and preparing for the next opponent.”

London Stephney completed 7-of-14 passes for 113 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also led the rushing attack with three carries for 98 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Baker carried the ball nine times for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Dawson Woolum carried seven times for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Jonathon Beverly had four carries for 48 yards. William Dean added a touchdown on his only carry of the night, a 21-yard house call. Tyson Thomas had two carries for 20 yards and Ethan Raby had three carries for 10 yards.

Jason Jones anchored the Bell County wide receivers with three receptions for 65 yards. Jonathan Lankford had one catch for 30 yards. Cameron Burnett had one catch for a 16 yard touchdown. Baker and Chandler Mink each had two receptions for four yards.

Trevor Kidd led the Bobcat defense with seven total tackles, two of which were for loss, with a fumble recovery. Thomas added seven tackles, two for loss, with one sack. William Baker had four tackles. Caleb LeFevers added four tackles, including one for loss. Lankford had one interception which he returned for 32 yards.

With the victory, Bell County improved to 8-0 on the season. The Bobcats are averaging 45 points-per-game, while only allowing 12 points-per-game up to this point in the season. They bolster the number-one ranking in 3A with an RPI of .693.
