A Bell County man remains behind bars on the charge of terroristic threatening.

Charles Lawson, 47, is charged with a bench warrant for prior harassing of communication dispatchers, and additionally he is charged with second-degree terroristic threatening.

Bell County Sheriff’s deputies and Kentucky State Police troopers responded to Lawson’s home after he had harassed dispatchers Monday night.

Lawson had called so many times on Monday night that Bell County Deputy Doug Jordan obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Deputy Jake Perry states that prior to deputies’ arrival at his home, Lawson had threated to kill dispatchers, Judge Robert Yoakum and several others.

Once officers were on scene, Lawson refused to follow verbal commands while they were trying to place him under arrest. At one point, deputy Perry had to deploy his taser to bring him under control and finally be placed into custody.

Lawson was transported to the Bell County Detention Center where he remains and more charges are currently pending.
