Investigation leads to outstanding warrant arrests

Three people remain in the Bell County Detention Center following their arrests on Thursday.
Bell County Deputies arrested and charged 31-year-old Jeffrey Blake Inman, 33-year-old Julie Ann Miller-Smith, and 45-year-old Juannia Sue Smith-Messer. Inman was charged with a criminal complaint warrant for first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Miller-Smith was charged with a complaint warrant for first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Smith-Messer was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree promoting contraband and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served outstanding warrants.
Deputies Edward Dray and Franklin Foster responded to Inman’s residents on an investigation. Upon the investigation, deputies discovered Inman and Miller-Smith had outstanding warrants.
While on scene, Smith-Messer arrived and deputies discovered she also had an outstanding warrants, and according to the report from the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, she was displaying behavior that led the deputies to believe she had drugs and/or drug paraphernalia concealed on her.
The report continues that Smith-Messer was informed multiple times to turn over anything illegal that she had or that she would be criminally charged if she introduced it into a detention facility. She acknowledged and refused to turn anything over to deputies.
The three suspects were taken to the Bell County Detention Center and upon arrival, Sgt. Katy Cox conducted a search of Smith-Messer and discovered clear plastic bags that contained a clear substance leading to additional charges.
The three remain in the Bell County Detention Center.
