The rain didn’t stop the cars from coming out and showing off at Saturday night’s Cruisin’ the Crater. One of the cars that caught the eyes of many that was a 1948 Fiat Topolino owned by Glenn and Pat Mayes of Russellville, Tenn. “We brought a full-size car but the rain and heat shrunk it,” Glenn Mayes joked.

The Mayes purchased the car from the previous owner in Kingsport, Tenn., who had the vehicle for several years but decided to part ways with it. The couple has no plans to paint it. “It draws attention as is,” he said. “It makes people smile.” Every third Saturday of each month through September, you can see vehicles such as this in the Middlesboro Mall parking lot. There are jaw-dropping automobiles, music, and fun for the whole family. Cruisin’ the Crater kicks off at 2 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m.
