In honor of the holiday season, Pineville’s Bell Theater will soon be graced by the presence of several high-profile musicians.
Upon the immense success of the summer’s Main Street Live series, Main Street Pineville Director Jacob Roan has teamed up with the Bell County Tourism Commission to begin Pineville’s first ever fall and winter concert series.
The series will feature several prominent up and coming artists, with genres ranging all the way from Americana to Southern Rock.
The shows are set to kick off Oct. 28, as the southern rock music group, The Steel Woods, is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m. The group has plans to soon tour alongside famous country artist, Miranda Lambert, and has recently even managed to land a spot on the Rolling Stone’s list of the top 10 up and coming country artists.
Other bands and artists scheduled for the series include: Kentucky native singer-songwriter Chris Knight on December 15; John Moreland, who has had several songs featured on the popular television show “The Sons of Anarchy,” on December 12; and well-known Canadian Americana artist Colter Wall.
Roan says he hopes this will eventually become more than a seasonal event, and expand into something that can be continued year-round for people from all across the region to attend and enjoy.
“We all really just wanted to find a way to bring in professional talent to the region, as well as give people in the community something to regularly look forward to,” said Roan.
Many locals have already taken to social media to express their excitement for the upcoming shows, and ticket sales have been successful for Saturday’s kick-off.
The Bell Theater has recently undergone renovations in order to improve the quality of the stage for the upcoming performances by major musicians, as well as local artists and performers. Both Brad Abraham and Sanctuary Sound have been working diligently to prepare top quality sound and lighting systems. Along with that, alcohol is also now available for sale in the lobby.
“We’ve spent a lot of time and effort to upgrade the Bell Theater to become one of the most professional venues in the area for live entertainment, with addition of top quality lights and sound, plus the newly permitted alcohol sales,” said Roan. “We hope that this will become the premier entertainment venue in the region.”
Tickets for the upcoming concerts are currently available for sale at Main Street Pineville’s website. Roan, as well as the others who helped plan the series, encourage everyone to attend and partake in the event.
