Lions sweep Hancock, knock off Lynn Camp in 3-game streak

Pineville broke out of a six-game losing streak by winning three straight, sweeping a doubleheader at Hancock County, Tenn., by scores of 4-3 and 18-16 and then a 14-13 win in nine innings over visiting Lynn Camp on Tuesday.
Freshman Preston Zachery led the Lions against Lynn Camp with a double and three singles. Collin Bays added a double and two singles. Landon Robbins had a triple and double. Nasir Wilson added a double and single. Kaiden Robbins chipped in with a triple. Sean Pursifull added a double. Noah Slone added a single.
Kaiden Robbins gave up six runs on one hit in 4 1/3 innings, with 10 strikeouts and 11 walks. Kaden Taylor gave up seven runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and four walks in 3 1/3 innings to claim the win. Zachery struck out the side in the ninth for the save.
Jonathan Slone led Pineville with a double in the 4-3 win over Hancock County. Kaiden Robbins and Pursifull added singles.
Kaiden Robbins gave up one two runs on two hits in 2 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts and four walks. Zachery earned the win as he allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks in 3 1/3 innings.
The 5-7 Lions play at Lynn Camp on Thursday and Somerset Christian School on Friday.
