Andrew (Andy) Denny of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed from this life at 90 years of age on April 5, 2025. Born in Pineville, Kentucky on June 6, 1934 to Andrew and Rhoda Hurst Denny, he was the youngest child in the family with 9 older brothers and sisters: Ewell, Sevia, Theora, Wallace, Paul, Nelson, Violet, Cody, and Estill. Andy graduated from Bell County High School, served in the US Army from 1957-1959, and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in journalism. Andy and his wife, Irene Buckner Denny, raised their children in Knoxville, TN. He worked in safety management for most of his career with Union Carbide and Martin Marietta at the Y-12 facility in Oak Ridge, TN. After retirement, Andy and Irene relocated to Tullahoma, TN for the remainder of their lives. Predeceased by his parents, all of his older siblings, and his wife, Andy is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Denise Denny Williams (Fred—Moscow, TN); his son, Andrew Gregory Denny (Janice—Tullahoma, TN); seven grandchildren: Andrew David Williams, Amy Hope Williams, Virginia Kate Williams (all Memphis, TN); Joshua Ethan Denny (Faith—Springfield, PA), Allison Fay Denny Welsch (Stephen—Lynchburg, VA), Andrew Nathaniel Denny (Kathy—Cookeville, TN), and Kristin Grace Denny (Durham, NC); and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service is scheduled for the family on Saturday, April 12, 2025 provided by the Tullahoma Funeral Home at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
