Rachel Howard pitched her second no-hitter of the season as Pineville rolled to an 18-1 win Friday at Williamsburg. Howard struck out nine and walked one while giving up one unearned run. The Lady Lions collected 15 hits and took advantage of 15 Williamsburg errors.
Monica Whitehead led the Pineville offense with a double and two singles with four runs scored. Rayanna Maiden, Addison Slone, Baileigh Bargo-Vaughn, Howard and Isabella Adams added two hits each. Malley Smith and Kameran Evans added one hit each.
The 5-0 Lady Lions play host to Harlan on Tuesday in a showdown of two of the region’s top Class A teams.
