The Health Wagon is pleased to announce that Chrissy Mullins, DNP, FNP-c, CNE, has been selected as a 2025 Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP). This prestigious honor recognizes nurse practitioners who have made exceptional contributions to the profession through clinical excellence, leadership, and advocacy.

Dr. Mullins, a dedicated volunteer at the Health Wagon, was nominated for this honor by two esteemed FAANP Fellows — Teresa Owens Tyson, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, President and CEO of the Health Wagon, and Paula Hill Collins, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, Vice President and Clinical Director of the Health Wagon. Their nominations underscore the profound respect and admiration Dr. Mullins has earned for her tireless service to patients in southwest Virginia, nursing students in the surrounding areas, and her unwavering commitment to advancing the nurse practitioner profession.

The FAANP designation is the highest professional honor bestowed by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. It recognizes nurse practitioners who have made enduring contributions to clinical practice, research, education, and policy. Fewer than 1% of nurse practitioners nationwide achieve this esteemed recognition, placing Dr. Mullins, among the elite leaders in her field.

Dr. Mullins’ induction into the 2025 FAANP class will take place on June 19, 2025, in San Diego, California, during the AANP National Conference.

Dr. Mullins, a resident of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, graduated from Pound High School (Pound, VA), Mountain Empire Community College (Big Stone Gap, VA), King College (Bristol, TN), and East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, TN). Their commitment to excellence, advocacy, and service uplifts not only The Health Wagon but also the entire nurse practitioner community.

The Health Wagon congratulates Dr. Mullins on this tremendous achievement and celebrates the contributions of all FAANP Fellows who advance health care for patients and communities across the nation.
