Neal Douglas “Doug” Michael, 80

Neal Douglas “Doug” Michael, ended his 80-year journey on Earth Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Georgetown Community Hospital. His proud parents, the late James Rufus and Sylvia Blanche Jones Michael gave him to his loving wife and lifelong friend, Sue Carole Michael (Linville) over 60 years ago. When he wasn’t doting on his wife and his children, Melinda Carole Lail and Vance Neal Michael, he enjoyed golfing and basking in the sun at the beach. He devoted his life to building memories with his wife, children and his grandchildren James Mason Marsh, Vance “VJ” Neal Michael, Jr. and Merritt Jeffrey Michael as well as his loving sister Deborah Darlene Michael Gillespie. While his true love has always been his family, they allowed him to spend some of his time working as Vice President and Marketing Director for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

A celebration of Doug’s life will held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Tucker, Yocum, and Wilson Funeral Home with Karen Greene Blondell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Georgetown Cemetery where pallbearers will be, J Lail, James Mason Marsh, VJ Michael, Merritt Michael, Ty Shearer, and Doug Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Shearer, Chad Linville, Angie Crouse, Joe Saleem, Jamie Sidney, Derek Wilson, and in loving memory, Cody Shearer.
