Margaret Lynn Redmon Atkins, 82, of Cookeville, TN passed away peacefully in her home on February 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a full and cherished life, and her warmth, love, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Allan Atkins, and a loving mother to her two children, Tammy Atkins Wilson (husband, Chris) and Rodney Atkins (wife, Rose). She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Jessie Wilson, Elijah Atkins, Ryder Atkins, and Scout Atkins. Margaret was a 1961 graduate of Middlesboro High School. She served as a church secretary for several years, and later formed a landscape and cleaning business in Cookeville, TN with her husband, Allan. Margaret’s favorite pastimes were fishing and flower gardening, and she took great joy in caring for the wild birds in her yard. She was a long-time member of Cookeville First Baptist Church and The Seekers Sunday School class. She is survived by two brothers: Gene Redmon (Blowing Rock, NC) and Andrew Redmon Jr. (Lincoln, NE), along with several nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eula Redmon (Middlesboro, KY); an infant son Jeffrey Allan Atkins; a brother, Jack Redmon (Augusta, GA); and a sister, Sue England (Middlesboro, KY). A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:00 EST at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, KY. A celebration of life service will be held in Cookeville at a later date to honor her memory.
