The Pineville Lady Lions ended a seven-game losing streak in impressive fashion Monday, defeating visiting Knott Central 81-78.
Junior forward Rachel Howard scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the 10-15 Lady Lions. Senior guard Ava Arnett added 24 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Johnson and Kamryn Biliter scored 11 points each, with Biliter also grabbing nine rebounds.
Senior forward Kyra McAlarnis poured in 30 points to lead the 19-7 Lady Patriots, the top team in the 14th Region. Dani McAlarnis added 13 points. Drew Reed scored 11, with Akasia Bentley and Addison Conley added 10 each.
The Lady Lions close their regular season schedule Friday at Lexington Christian Academy.
