Brenda Sue Bailey, 72, of Ewing, Virginia, passed away on February 03, 2025. Born on September 22, 1952, to Shultz and Cornia Bailey, Brenda was a loving mother and grandmother and a treasured friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shultz Robinson Bailey and Cornia Barnes Bailey, and her brother, John Dickie Bailey. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Kinser (Adam), her granddaughter, Brooks Chadwell, her grandsons, Hank Kinser and Graham Kinser, her sister, Lynn Metcalfe (Rick), her sister-in-law, Betty Bailey, her nephews, Aaron Bailey (Sidney) and Charles “Tony” Crumley (Frances), her nieces Adriane Metcalfe and Lauren Pridemore (Patrick), and a host of other relatives and friends. As a high school student at Thomas Walker High School, Brenda was elected the school’s first Homecoming Queen in 1967. Upon her graduation in 1970, she attended college at Radford University and Lincoln Memorial University, graduating in 1974. She earned her master’s degree from Radford University. Brenda spent her career in government service as a Probation Officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice working in the Lee County Court Service Unit for decades. Several of her colleagues became her closest lifelong friends. After retiring in 2016, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She spent her life as a parishioner of Bethany Christian Church and Christian Life Fellowship. A service to receive friends will be held on Sunday, February 09, 2025, from 4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Christian Life Fellowship in Jonesville, Virginia. Her ashes will be interred at Lee Memorial Gardens (West) in a private service for her family. In lieu of any flowers, please donate to the charity that meant the most to Brenda, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
