Twelve of 13 Jackets reached the scoring column Wednesday as Middlesboro coated to a 67-13 win over J. Frank White Academy, Tenn., at Lincoln Memorial University.
Junior guard Joseph Killion led Middlesboro with 14 points. Jacob Tinnell and Mekhi Young added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
“We were able to work on our defense by trying to defend the paint and stopping the straight line drives, I was pleased with how the younger guys responded by playing a majority of the game,” Middlesboro coach John Wheat said. “Ayden Allen, Bryson Heck and Emmitt Butler I felt did a solid job defensively on the ball and in help side. We’ve got to get better in all aspects of the game before we get into the meat and potatoes of the district schedule. I love this team and how hard they are working together.”
The 4-8 Jackets travel to Harlan on Jan. 24.
