The Middlesboro Ladies Golf Association (MLGA) is proud to announce that their annual holiday giving initiative has helped over 33 families and 55 students this Christmas season. Thanks to the incredible support from the community and the success of the 3rd Annual Christmas in July Charity Golf Scramble, the MLGA raised $15,000 to fund this effort, ensuring local middle and high school students received much-needed gifts and extra support during the holidays.
“Our mission goes far beyond the golf course,” said MLGA President Celia Shoffner. “Through the generosity of our members, supporters, and sponsors, we’ve been able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in our community this year. It’s a privilege to share this holiday spirit and see the joy it brings to so many.”
The MLGA attributes much of this success to their dedicated 2024 Christmas in July Corporate Sponsors, whose commitment to the community has been instrumental in achieving these goals:
• Middlesboro Coca-Cola Bottling Works INC.
• Middlesboro Independent Schools
• JRS Restaurant Corporation
• Smithfield Foods
• Hearthside Bank
• Redmond Chevrolet
“We are so fortunate to have such incredible partners who believe in the power of giving back,” said MLGA Board Member Stephanie McCune. “These collaborations allow us to create a lasting impact for students in our community, and we look forward to continuing these efforts in the years to come.”
MLGA Board Member Ashley Cambron shared her perspective on the group’s efforts: “What makes this initiative so special is how it brings our community together. From our sponsors to our members, everyone plays a role in making sure these families feel supported and valued. It’s a beautiful example of what can happen when people come together for a common cause.”
As the MLGA wraps up another remarkable year with 95 dedicated members, they extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported their efforts and wish the entire community a Happy New Year.
