Bell County opened its schedule with a 90-48 rout of Lee County on Tuesday in the Larry Gritton Sr. Classic at Oneida Baptist.
Sophomore forward Ethan Buell led the Bobcats with 30 points. Cameron Hall followed with 25 points, including four of four in 3-pointers. Jaxon Thomas added 13 points. Junior guard Blake Burnett played sparingly as he recovers from an injury suffered in football season.
“It always feels good to get a win to open up the season,” Bell County coach Brad Sizemore said. “I thought the kids came out and played really hard on both ends of the floor. We had a lot of energy from the tip and it was good to see several kids score the ball. We have a lot of work in front of us and need to make improvements in a lot of areas, but the potential is there, and I’m excited to see us continue to develop.”
The 1-0 Bobcats play host to Red Bird on Thursday.
