Valley View Counseling held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday at their new office in Middlesboro. They’re located at 208 North 18th Street in Suite 4.
Bell County native Mikaela Gray is the mental health counselor at Valley View and is available to help with a wide range of mental health issues.
She was joined at the ribbon cutting by her husband Nathaniel and children Sadie, Beckham and Sutton; parents Mark and Michelle Robbins and members of the Bell County Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re so thankful that Valley View Counseling is in Middlesboro and Bell County. It’s great to have Mikaela back home and I know her family is glad to have her back, too,” said Chamber Director Alex Gambrel.
Gray thanked everyone for coming out to the grand opening.
“I’m really excited to be back home — it’s been 15 years I think. I love this area and I love these people,” she said. “It’s neat to be away for so long and come back and see all of the life that’s been breathed into downtown, and now to be a part of that is really exciting. I feel honored to be a part of what’s happening in this town where I grew up.”
Valley View is a private pay, private practice so there is no need for a referral.
“We offer general mental health counseling services to people age 16 and up as well as couples. We deal with a range of issues: anxiety, depression, self harm, conflict, trauma and addiction, really any mental health concern,” Gray said. “It’s private pay and the fees are posted on our website, valleyviewcouselingllc.com. My fees are really transparent, but I do have a sliding scale reduced fee agreement available to anyone who requests it and hopefully we’ll be approved for Medicaid by the end of the year.”
