Bell County Clerk Debbie Gambrel took a moment during last week’s Commonwealth’s Attorney debate to remind everyone to get out and vote leading up to Election Day on November 5.

“If you choose to vote on Election Day then you will vote in your home precinct. The voting hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. there,” she said.

For those who choose to vote early there are two locations: at the old Courthouse in Pineville or at the Community Center in Middlesboro on 30th Street. Gambrel said those will be open on

October 31, November 1 and November 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“They’ll scan your driver’s license and print you out a ballot. We’ll give it to you to vote on and then feed it through the scanner and you’re done,” Gambrel said.

Excused absentee voting can take place on October 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 and 30 at those same two locations Gambrel said excuses include disability, working the election, being in the military, a student or if you will be out of town.

“Be sure to look at both sides of the ballot because there are candidates and questions on both sides, that is important,” she said. “If there is anything we can do, you can call the Clerk’s Office (606-337-6143) to find out where your voting place is on Election Day. We’re happy to answer any questions or you can go online at govote.ky.gov.”
