Middlesboro sweeps soccer doubleheader

Middlesboro swept a soccer doubleheader Tuesday at home, defeating Claiborne, Tenn., 5-2 in girls action and downing Knox Central 8-0 in boys action.
Kolbi Mason and Emily Parsons each had two goals and Millie Roberts added one to help the Lady Jackets improve to 9-2. Trinity Partin recorded seven goalkeeper saves.
Sebastian Kyle and Brent Thompson each recorded three goals in the win over Knox Central. Mason Young and DeAndre Lightfoot added one goal each. Bryson Heck and Trevor Haney had two assists each, while Kyle, Lightfoot and Aiden Larew added one each.
The Lady Jackets play host to Whitley County on Thursday. The 5-4 Yellow Jackets travel to Harlan County on Thursday.
