The Lee (Va.) Generals defeated the Pineville Mountain Lions 41-0 Friday on homecoming night at Five Star Stadium in Jonesville.
Lee (2-1) got three touchdowns from junior running back Connor Early — two touchdown receptions and a rushing score — and four touchdown passes from Brynnen Pendergraft.

Early had receptions from Pendergraft, covering 64 and 55 yards, and a 28-yard jaunt to counteract a Pineville rushing attack that found its most success of the season.

Senior running backs Kaiden Robbins and Nasir Wilson did an admirable job toting the rock in the absence of star junior Landon Robbins. Robbins led the Lions with 80 yards rushing, while Wilson gained 40 yards.

However, the Generals’ quick-strike offense was too much for the Lions’ defense with no scoring drive lasting more than four plays.
After a promising opening drive by the Lions ended on an interception, Early took the Generals’ first play 64 yards for a touchdown, giving Lee a 7-0 lead.

An eight-play Pineville drive ended on downs, allowing Lee to score again on a 25-yard run by Early. The extra point made the score 14-0 after the first quarter.

The floodgates opened in the second quarter for the Generals offense. Lee took four Pineville punts for quick scores by Early on a 55-yard pass from Pendagraft, a 25-yard pass from Pendagraft to Steven May, a 45-yard run by Andrew Holmes, and a 75-yard pass to Scotty
Napier to stake Lee to a 41-0 halftime advantage.
Pineville (0-4) will face Harlan in the annual Battle of 119 on Friday in Harlan.
