Parsons throws for two touchdowns as Garrard edges Yellow Jackets

Middlesboro gave up just over 400 yards of offense Friday, falling to 0-2 on the season with a hard-fought 23-20 loss at Garrard County.
Junior quarterback Justin Parsons completed seven of nine passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns – one each to Jaghyr Wood and Nathaniel Doughery. Senior running back Cameron Peak ran for 151 yards on 18 carries, with one touchdown.
Sophomore quarterback Deakon Partin accounted for most of the Middlesboro offense as he completed seven of 14 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns. Xavion Shehan had two touchdown catches and Joseph Killion added one. Killion recorded three catches for 100 yards. Shehan had three catches for 56 yards. Vincent Smith ran for 119 yards on 12 carries.
The Jackets play host to Gate City, Va., on Friday.
