Betts, Middleton power MBP to Central Region victory

A basketball/softball standout at Middlesboro High School known for her quickness and athleticism, Keevi Betts provided quite a spark at the top of the Middlesobo Pineville Bell lineup on Tuesday in the first round of the Central Regional (ages 15-16) in Lawrenceburg.
Betts pounded out four hits in five at bats with three runs scored, two RBI and five steals as MPB, the Kentucky state champions, won a 14-11 slugfest over Missouri.
Alexis Middleton also had four hits for MBP, including a triple, with four RBI from the cleanup spot. Trinity Partin and Kenley
Foster each added two hits. Adyson Scott, Kolbi Mason and Abby Jackson contributed one hit each.
Scott pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts and one walk to earn the victory in the circle. She gave up 11 runs on 15 hits.
