BCHS students Thacker and Sexton earn bronze at FCCLA National competition

Bell County High School students Baleigh Thacker and Lacey Sexton have secured the Bronze Medal in the prestigious National Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) STAR Events competition. The talented duo competed in the Promote and Publicize category, Level 3, showcasing their outstanding skills and dedication.
The competition was held on June 28th in Seattle, Washington, and brought together some of the brightest young minds from across the country, all vying for top honors in various FCCLA challenges. Thacker and Sexton distinguished themselves with their innovative approach and meticulous execution in the Promote and Publicize event, earning accolades from judges and peers alike.
The FCCLA STAR Events competition emphasizes leadership development, goal setting, and career preparation in family and consumer sciences education. Participants are challenged to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life situations, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
