Mildred “Mick” Jean Underwood, 79, of Pineville, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Madison Health & Rehabilitation in Richmond, KY. She was born on February 17, 1945, the daughter of the late Buster and Marine Evans. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Underwood I; three brothers, Alton “Mooch” Evans, Stan Evans, and Ralph “Doc” Evans; her brother-in-law, Norman Barnett; and two sisters-in-law, Ruby (Condie) Miracle and Shirley (Douglas) Wilder. Survivors include her children, Harold Dino (Shirley) Underwood II, Tonya (Shannon) Conley, and Michael Underwood; her grandchildren, Trystan Watson, Nataleigh Underwood, Peyton Underwood, and Grey Conley; her brothers, Rabon (Barb) Evans and Zyndall (Vivian) Evans; her sisters, Wilma Evans, Audrey Fuson, and Reda Barnett; her sister-in-law, Wanda Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews. An avid animal lover, Mildred cared for many throughout her life, including numerous cats, birds, fish, and dogs (as well as a very special dog named Gizmo). Mildred would spend countless hours working in her garden. She loved all flowers and took pride in her incredible talent of nurturing life into something beautiful. The kindness and warmth that she gave to the world will be missed by all who knew her. Per Mildred’s request there will be no public visitation or funeral.
