It was a big day for the Middlesboro High School Cheerleading program as three seniors from MHS signed their National Letters of Intent to cheer at Lincoln Memorial University. Ryleigh Ausmus, Alexis Marsee and Shelby Vaughn will all be cheering on the Railsplitters next season.
“This is a very special day. I’ve known these three girls since they were very small, especially the one (Alexis) being my own child,” said MHS Cheer coach Carlene Carter. “I’ve watched all three of them grow up. They know what it takes to win, they know what dedication is, they know what hard work is. It’s just a really great day for Middlesboro High School, Middlesboro’s cheerleading program to send three girls to cheer at the DII level with Lincoln Memorial University. We’re really excited for their future and what they’re going to do over there. I know they will go on and they’ll be great because that’s who they are.”
