This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Bell County Senior Citizens serving the seniors in Bell County, 1974-2024. There will be various celebrations announced throughout the year.
In February 2024, The Bell County Senior Centers served 506 meals in Pineville and Middlesboro when seniors came into the centers to enjoy activities, celebrations, crafts, and games, or use the exercise room.
“We invite those aged 60-plus to come in and see your Senior Center in a different way. Enjoy shuffleboard, Corn Hole, dominoes, checkers, rummy, rook, picture puzzles, reading, or watch television or videos, and join in the activities,” said Director Carolyn Mason.
Seniors can learn from special guests or come see Chef Nathan and Rachel as they prepare healthy food and show them how to cook easily and healthy. A visit to the center is an opportunity to make new friends, or just talk over coffee before lunch. A nutritious lunch is served between 11:30 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday. There is no charge for Lunch, a donation is welcome.
The Senior Center in Pineville is located on the corner at 211 W. Tennessee Avenue, with parking in the front, side, and back of the center. The Middlesboro Senior Center is located at 207 S. 21st Street – beside the former Spectrum Cable TV Office. Parking is available in front of the center.
