The annual Fish Fest along the canal by the Middlesboro City Parking Lot was a big success again this year. Hundreds of area children were able to fish for rainbow trout that had been stocked in the canal on Friday. Berkley representatives provided free rods and reels and bait, Tri-State Veterans grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and Bell County Americorps volunteers passed out lunch. The event was put on by Bell County Attorney Chirs Douglas with help from the Bell County Fiscal Court and the City of Middlesboro.
