Brigmon pitches five hitless innings as Cats blank Somerset Christian

Bell County split two games last week in the 2A Tournament, defeating Perry Central 13-3 before falling 15-0 to Corbin.
Jackson Walters led the Bobcats against Perry with two hits and two RBI. Daniel Thomas added a triple. Brayden Carroll contributed a double. Cooper Brock, Holden Clark, Derrick Goodin and Brody Hensley added one single each. Brock drove in three runs and Walters scored three.
Blake Burnett earned the win as he struck out 11 and walked only one over 5 2/3 innings, giving up one earned run on four hits. Brock recorded the final out.
Walters and Thomas had the only hits for the Bobcats against Corbin. Brock gave up 12 runs (two earned) on four hits over 2 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts and is walks. Goodin allowed three unearned runs on two hits in one inning.
Bell routed Somerset Christian 10-0 on Thursday. Burnett scored three runs with a triple and walk to lead the Bobcats’ offense.
Joseph Brigmon pitched five hitless innings with 13 strikeouts and two walks. Carroll gave up one hit in one inning with three strikeouts and no walks.
Carrolll, Brigmon, Clark, Goodin and Walters had one hit each.
