Nancy Fretwell Coatney, 81, widow of James Roy Coatney, passed away March 6, 2024.
Born in Middlesboro KY, she was the daughter of Edward Eugene Fretwell & Ray Davis Fretwell. Nancy was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond KY, as well as the Red Hatters, and volunteered for Home Meals Delivery.
Nancy is survived by her sons, James Jeffrey Coatney of Los Angeles CA, and Jason Alan Coatney (Mindy), and granddaughter Presley Jean Coatney of Union KY, and a brother, Gene Fretwell Jr. (Wanda) of Millington TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by brother, J.D. Fretwell and sisters, Joyce Burns and Phyllis Tinnel.
Services for Mrs. Coatney will be at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home (ORP) in Richmond KY on Thursday, March 14th, 6 – 8pm for visitation. The brief funeral service will be Friday, March 15th at 11am at ORP, followed by a graveside burial service at Green Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums in Middlesboro KY for those that wish to travel and attend.
