James Hood

James Hood, age 64, of Middlesboro, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2024.
James, fondly known as Jimmy, was born to Charles C. Hood and Shirley F. Hood Hite on January 27, 1959 in Harlan. Jimmy was a huge University of Kentucky fan, loved fishing, and Norris Lake was his favorite place. He loved being a husband and father, but his favorite title was Papaw.
Jimmy is survived by the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Diane (Dicy) Hood, daughter Megan Hood, two grandsons Anden and Carter, who in his eyes hung the moon. He is also survived by his mother Shirley F. Hite, brother Charles E. Hood, Sr., sisters Linda F. (Rick) Ealy and Darla S. (Mike) Tolliver, two brothers-in-law Jack Parsons and Ernie (LaDonna) Parsons, and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Charles C. Hood, brother Michael W. Hood, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother-in-law Richard D. Turner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family has requested a tree to be planted in his honor.
