Ruth Greene

Ruth Jeanette Greene, age 100, of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away on January 6, 2024 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Jeanette (Grandma) was born on December 28, 1923 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Rebecca Pace. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. In addition to serving her church in several other areas such as Bible school, church custodian, hostess committee and nursery, she also enjoyed other interests including cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Johnnie I Greene; her daughter Linda Greene Morgan, sisters, Irene Pace, Willie Mae Massengill, Georgia Rae Hill and Mary Ellen Edmondson; and brothers, Frank (Bub) Pace and Everett (Sonny) Pace.

Jeannette is survived by one sister, Bonnie Jean Willis of Harrogate; daughter Rosemary Carnes of Middlesboro; sons Dennis R. Greene (Shelia) of Livingston and Johnnie Wayne Greene (Beverly) of Dandridge; grandchildren Jami England (Kris), Laura Gambrel (Wayne), Brittany Greene, Kandra Danner (Josh), John Wesley Greene, Leah Greene, Clabe Morgan (Busba) and Kelli Morgan; 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Jeanette Greene will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Steve Green and Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Music provided by Bebe Campbell, Jami England, and Linda Ingram.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Middlesboro, Kentucky.

Honorary Pallbearers are all Grandsons and Nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for the cards, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In addition, the family extends special thanks to the staff of Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for the excellent care and attention given to Grandma.
