Earlene Cupp Sutton, age 68, of Miracle, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro. She was born April 4, 1955, in Pineville, the daughter of the late Jesse Cupp and Glessie Green Cupp.
She was a member of the Blackstar Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and helping others. She made an impression on the life of many. She was always helping the children in her neighborhood, helping children with drug addictions, and being a faithful friend to everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of twelve years, Lewis Gilbert “Gib” Sutton; sister, Edith (Wilder) Taylor; brothers, Harold (Stella) Cupp, Robert Cupp, Freeman Cupp, Oscar Cupp, JC “Jessie” (Marie) Cupp, Arthur “Hot Shot” (Maggie Lou) Cupp, Hubert Cupp, and Hillary Cupp; granddaughter, Jessica Bailey, and a lot of special friends.
She is survived by her children, Glessie Frances Sutton of Miracle, Jennifer (John) Brown of Calloway, Lewis Jr (Connie) Sutton of Tazewell, and a lot of adopted children at Pathfork. Siblings, Linda Lou (Paul) Hobbs of Pathfork, Magdaline (Jim) Bennett of Lafollette, and Donnie (Cynthia) Cupp of Miracle; sister-in-law, Patsy Cupp; brother-in-law, Roy Taylor; grandchildren, Sabrina Parks, Colene Parks, John Brown Jr, Brian Brown, Josh Sutton, Matthew Sutton, Jake Sutton, Camron Williams, Brittany Smith and Taylor Smith;
Great-grandchildren, Maddox Parks, Maverick Brown, Dakota Brown, Dawson Brown, Decker Brown, Tatum Brown, Gannon Brown, Brody Brown, Emily Rose, and Blake Brown.
The family of Earlene Cupp Sutton will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro. Funeral Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Reverend J.C. Craig and Reverend David Hatfield presiding. Music will be provided by the Ramsey Family, Clarence Ramsey, Larry Roark, and Luther Adkins.
Family and friends will meet at noon, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Cawood Funeral Home, Middlesboro. They will travel in procession to the Wilder Cemetery in Cubbage, where gravesides services will be held at 1 p.m. with Reverend Robert Miracle presiding.
Pallbearers will be Paul Hobbs Jr., Jeff Howard, Adam Cupp, Mike Cupp, Michael Hunley, John Brown Sr., John Brown Jr., Brian Brown, and Buddy Taylor. Honorary Pall bearers will be Mitch Williams, Colby Slusher, Dr. Daniel Mongiardo, Dr. Talmadge Hays, Harold Harbin, and Rick Nelson.
