Bell County stayed perfect on the season and advanced to 2A state competition with a 49-47 win Friday at Whitley County in the Section 7 finals.
Cameron Hall scored 18 points and Blake Burnett added 17 for the 15-0 Bobcats.
Evan Ellis paced the Colonels with 16 points.
“This was a great win for our guys. Whitley County has a really good team. It was a great environment. Our kids played tremendously hard the entire game, and we found a way to win down the stretch,” Bell County coach Brad Sizemore said. “I’m happy for them, and we are very excited to advance to the next round of the tournament.”
Another close game ended in another Bell victory as the Bobcats edged Daniel Boone, Tenn., 61-60 in overtime at the Winter Classic at East Tennessee State University.
Hall poured in 25 to lead the 16-0 Bobcats. Burnett and Ethan Buell added 14 and 10 points, respectively.
